Salvation

Colossians 2:13-14 "When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." (ESV).

This is the cry of worship this week.
Romans 5:8 "...but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

What an amazing thought! Song after song after song have been written just on this subject! David, who did not know Christ as we know Christ wrote Psalms like this! Psalm 62:1-2 says, "For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken."

Just wow! The power behind God's glory compelled the Old Testament king to worship in a spirit of salvation! David knew his sin. He knew Bathsheba without being married to her and had her husband killed. He knew what it was like to be wrong. He knew what it was like to come up from the dust and search with everything He had for God's face.

Today and this week, remember your salvation. You have done wrong at some point this last week. Remember why your salvation exists. Remember why our savior had to die.

In the wise words of Jason Goings to me, "Don't mess up today."
