My cry of worship is that of extreme thanksgiving.
Always in Sunday School (Small Groups for you FBC Beltoners) I have been taught to be thankful in all things, in good and bad, in struggle and in wealth blahdy blahdy blah. Today I am tasting that just a little more and it tastes good!
My Psalm today was 7. 7:17 sparked my thankfulness, "I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His righteousness, and I will song praise to the name of the Lord, Most High."
For that, I wrote this chorus this morning.
"I will thank you Lord
Because You are worthy of my praise!
And all that I can give I give it to Your name!
Oh, Lord You are my refuge,
and Lord in You I'm saved!
Oh, Lord on High I will shout, I will shout Your praise!"
Salvation is the theme for the week, and in that Salvation. I am thankful. Because of that Salvation, this Psalm speaks of a hope that David has in the battlefield. That God should judge him for his personal unrighteousness, but he knows at the same time that because of the righteousness of the Lord's anointing, that he will not be destroyed where his enemies will be crushed.
How amazing! WE HAVE BEEN ANOINTED BY THE SAME FATHER!!!!!!!!!
Haleluja!
This, this Salvation, this hope, this calling, is THE REASON that we are alive and is THE PURPOSE for our lives. Deuteronomy 6:5, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."
LOVE HIM!!!
Plain and simply, we are absolutely nothing without him! I know me personally. I know that I am a wretch. I am flawed. I can be stubborn and opinionated and tell too many dirty jokes and curse too much and any number of other things that should turn His face away.
wow.
"He loves us! OH! How He loves us!"
I love that song. I love to play it and i love to sing it, but my favorite is when everything is quiet and i can scream that at the top of my lungs in agony at what I do to Him and at the same time in thanks because of everything He does for me in spite of my flesh.
"You will know that forgiveness has begun when you recall those who hurt you and feel the power to wish them well." -Lewis B. Smedes
"Forgiveness between humans is a humbling reminder that we are all failures and can strive to not necessarily forget one another's mistakes, but accept them without demeaning the individual.
Forgiveness is not forgive and forget, but forgive and love" -Curtis Landrum
Wow. I am completely just amazed by all of this. Tears are literally streaming from my eyes and I just think that this is beautiful. "He loves us, OH How he Loves us!!" Despite what we do, what we say, how we act, whatever... he STILL LOVES US through it all. Nothing can ever top that kind of love and i just can't even put my hand on all of that. God's love is sufficient. Forgiveness is not just saying your sorry and moving on; it's more than that. Forgiveness is taking a situation and completely choosing to love in every aspect depite what has happened. I'm so thankful for God's unconditional love that he displays in every situation of our lives. :) HE LOVES US. OH HOW HE LOVES US. HE. LOVES.
